I just realized that I haven't updated my journal since September of 2007!
This calls for a little catching up!
For starters, I've graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelors Degree in Fine arts, and a minor in Art History. It was pretty intense because I decided to graduate a year early. Again, I wanna thank all my teachers and friends that made it possible. It really means the world to me. :_)
So the second my last exam was handed in, my boyfriend and I jumped into a moving van and moved up to Michigan.
I'm still getting used to the colder weather, but overall, I think I like Michigan better than Indiana. It could only be better if my friends and family were up here with me. It gets a little lonely moving to a far off place. However, the physical distance from my loved ones has made the online community GaiaOnline much more important to me. It really helps me keep close to my old friends.
As far as jobs go, I'm still searching for a full-time career in art, but in the mean time I'm working for a catering business as a baker. I really love to make cakes and cookies, so this is a good day job for me right now.
Other than that, there isn't too much to talk about. I hope everyone has a happy Halloween and gets tons of treats!
Best Wishes,
-lorraine

Woo!
GenCon was a great success, I believe we had record attendance this year. Tons of awesome games, helpful portfolio reviews, and good sales! Not to mention I got to see tons of friends and family I've missed for WAY too long. I've been crazy busy since then with commissions I picked up at the show, and I seem to be booked until the end of October. Still, anyone interested in a commission, always feel free to email and ask. :)
So yeah, Just felt like this journal needed an update! Best wishes to everyone and thanks for your support!

Now open for commissions!
I'm taking commissions again! :D If there's something you want me to draw, just send me an email (schleter@gmail.com) and we'll work it out! I do my best to be reasonable with prices, so no worries!
PLUS I'm all set up to have an art booth at a couple cons over the summer. Changed my business name to "Lor Illustration" and so far I have spaces at GenCon and Origins, and with luck the table at Go!DaikoCon will come through as well. I'll be selling prints and doing character sketches there, so if you happen to be heading to the con, I'd love to see ya! :)
This year has been pretty good art wise, got a little work with WOTC, Fantasy Flight, an
Convention season!
I'll be at Gencon, Indy this year selling sketches and prints. My illustration 'business' is called Gilded Pixels. I hope to see you there!
^_^
April 1st- ya got me
OK. So the whole Team "insert stupid thing here", dev Avi thing scared the crap out of me. As I slowly get over being pissed, I can see the humor in it. Nicely done. *slow cynical clapping*
Oh yeah, If you're planning to go to GenCon this year in Indy, please stop by my booth and say hello! :) -more info about that soon.
Well, I'm gonna get back to working on my comic book now.

I wonder about you sometimes, it's good to hear from you! Glad everything is going well...your situation sounds a lot like mine; I do cake decorating right now while I'm getting through art school and am thinking of moving out of state when I graduate, hrrrm. Hope all goes well, look luck with the job hunt!
