Wisdom teeth

Wed Mar 28, 2007, 1:03 PM
Well, it seems that my time has come.

My two Wisdom teeth have decided to start pushing my other teeth around, so I have declared war upon them. I'm getting them taken out this friday, and I've kinda got a case of the jitters. If anyone could share with me good stories about how their operation went fine and there's nothing to be scared of, I would really appreciate it.

I'm sure everything will be fine ^^. The dentist is never as bad as we all suspect.

Hehe, I remember when I got mine out. I was really curious to see how the drugs would effect me/how they work and so I tried really hard to stay awake so I could feel the drugs making me fall asleep. I was talking a lot and trying to stay awake so I kept asking my doctors questions and watching them walk around the room after they gave me a dose. I'm sure it must've been pretty amusing for them to watch me chattering away one second and then conked out asleep the next. x) Seriously, the last thing I remember was being wide awake asking one doctor how long it usually takes and the next thing I know I'm waking up in a completely different room with a cotton ball in my mouth and my mom giggling at me because apparently I was doing silly things while waking up. ^^;

...and the best part is you have an excuse to eat lots of ice cream for the next week or so because they recommend you eat "soft foods." ^-^ It's not a bad experience at all.

It not so bad. I got them out yesterday and it's just kinda sore. So don't worry it will be fine.:)

I had to have all four cut out. Aside from a bit of zoned out Tylenol 3 drugged madness, I scarcely remember any of it. A day or two and I was pretty good to go. My sister was the same way. Just don't try and do anything too soon, dry sockets = the devil.

Aren't you glad you asked this crowd?! Actually wisdom tooth removal is fun I am sure! Take it from one who knows all about it.(would I lie?)

It's usually not as bad as all the horror stories make it out to be. If your wisdom teeth are out enough to push other teeth around you should only be "out" for a couple days or so. Are you getting four removed, or are the two the only ones growing in?

PS the syringe to clean out food from the holes is pretty gross, but if you're lucky you won't have to go through that.

It's really not that bad, but good luck anyway:heart:

Well, I'm lucky, so I only have 2 wisdom teeth. One is broken through the gum, and the other is a few moths away from it. I think they're going to pull one and cut out the other.

Thanks for the support! ^_^ it's really helping me out!

Then you should be doped for about a day, maybe less. And you're welcome:D
